Here is a little tutorial i am now writing to tell people who do not know how to use any color font on MSN...
1. Get The Red Green Blue or Hex Values of your color
- Get The Red Green Blue or Hex Values of your color
- If you have the HEX values, skip to step 3.
- Open up paint.
- Double click on a color in hte color picker
- Click the Define Custom Color button
- Look at the red green and blue numbers.
- Convert each number to HEX with Calculator
- Open up windows calculator.
- Go to the view menu and select scientific.
- Press the F6 Key to switch to normal Decimal form
- Punch in the number (Example: 128)
- Press the F5 key to Switch to Hex
- Write down the HEX number for each Red Green and Blue
- Use Regedit to change the color
- Start>Run>regedit
- Brows to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings\#########
- Each email address that has logged in on MSN Messenger will have a different number, there is a way to convert them, but its easiest if you jsut do a gues and check
- Double Click on the IM Color key
- You will see 4 sets of 2 digitsafter 4 0's, like this 0000 00 00 80 00, the fi 3 sets of 2 zeros are your R, G, and B, like this: 0000 00 00 80 00
- Change the values to the HEX values you calculated, for example, the color skyblue:
Red: 0
Green: 128
Blue: 255
HEX:
Red: 00
Green: 80
Blue: FF
Change it to look like this: 0000 00 80 FF 00
- Close all IM's and your color should now be set.
