Sounds in quick texts? by BlackWidow82 on 10-13-2004 at 09:59 PM
I was wondering if it's possible to include sound files in quick texts?
For example, I had a red light saber emoticon set as well as a darth vader custom emoticon. I was wanting to use these along with the Imperial March emoticon sound that comes with Plus! I didn't know of anyway to edit the emoticons that appear with the sound file itself, so, I was going to set up a quick text to send one message with the emoticons, followed by the imperial march sound (using the command /sevil), and then end it with the string of emoticons again.
I tried doing that, using the # symbol and all that, so that the quick text would send 3 messages one after the other, but no luck. The emoticons worked fine, but it didn't play the sound file, instead it just showed the command text.
Does anyone know how I can get the sound file to play in a quick text? Or is it just not possible to do that ?
Thanks!

You can just use the emoticon shortcuts after the command:
For example
/sevil (saber)(darth)
Would result with
The imperial march beeing played, and those two custom emoticons beeing shown.

Ok cool, thanks. That's better than nothing!

Just a quick note ... I tried that, and it worked just fine, thanks!
I also realized I can make a quick text of it that way, too. I just did a new quick text using the command /sevil followed by my keyboard shortcuts for the emoticons, and it works now, too. I like it cause it replaces the bats with those icons instead, and now that I have it as a quick text, it makes it even easier.
Thanks again for the help!

About the quick text. This should work:
code: (saber)(darth)
#/sevil
#(saber)(darth)
Or
code: (saber)(darth)
#/sevil (saber)(darth)

Yeah, I tried it that way at firts, but no luck. I tried it two different ways:
(darth)(saber)(darth)
# /sevil
# (darth)(saber)(darth)
and also tired it this way:
(darth)(saber)(darth)
# /sevil
But neither of those worked. Both times it only showed the command, without playing the sound.
BUT, when I did it this way:
/sevil (darth)(saber)(darth)
It worked perfectly. So I now have a quick text that plays the sound, with different emoticons. Thanks again!

The reson your first wuick texts didnt work was because you pu a space between the # and /sevil
There has to be no space, like:
#/sevil
