The problem lies in your ISP.
If for example you have a 56kb modem, then the messenger can't send the audio because you connection is too slow.
OR
The ISP (Internet Service Provider) has some limits to it. For example i have hispeed.ch as my provider and it has no limitations because it is a broadband connection. But if you have a limited bandwidth or slow connection it can cause problems.
What i suggest you do:
1. Check who your ISP is and what limitations you have
2. If this is not the case reinstall the messenger and try again
