The bug is rather simple:
This happens when any semi-transparency is set and the "hide when offline" option is enabled. When the contact comes online, regadlessly of the transparency set, it gets totlly opaque. This gets fixed when it's hovered.

Your display card driver is just playing dumb 
. I've added an extra protection in the nextvesion, let me know if it fixes it
