What PC Company by saralk on 10-15-2004 at 06:08 PM
Hi, im getting a new pc soon and i need your advice on what pc make to go for.
As my dad is going to be parting with the cash, he has certain criteria:
- Must be a by a reputable make
- Must be Windows ("Im not learning any more interfaces", which is fair enough, since his work has taken on some dodgy java desktop thing)
- Must be quiet
[/list]
And I want a decent pc thats fast and is good value for money.
I dont want Alienware as id rather not pay over the odds for some "1337" looking case and a free T-Shirt.

Get a VooDoo ENVY Notebook or RAGE Desktop. VooDoo makes awesome PC's, they are reliable, fast, over-clocked and have a good warranty, not to mention how awesome they look .
http://www.voodoopc.com
They have been reviewed by multiple sources and given high ratings
Note: You better have deep pockets, a VooDoo will run you AT LEAST $3000 Canadian

Id get Dell, ive had some others, and i must say Dell were the best of all of em. Its nver creashed (in 2 years) cuz of hardware problems or so (not what i can say about my other PC). I got another Dell like 4 months ago, theyre prety quiet, respectable price & brand, and its windows of cource. And if you dont need some exotic case...
Just my Opinion.
Blade: I like the laptop, the Desktop case not really my style
$3000 CAN is how much US or Euros? Just wondering i dunno my way around Can $.

I'm buying a VooDoo next time - I've had my Dell 3 years now,a nd their service is great but I've had 2 hard drive hardware failures (lost everything on the drive ) My video card has fried twice, and Ive had some other problems aswell
Also: Dell's BIOS does not allow for over-clocking
Note: The case is just an example, they have others (though I find that one cool....)

I dont think ill be getting a voodoo, im not much of a gamer so i dont need a gaming orientated PC.
The things ill do with my PC are:
Downloading Videos
Video/Image Editing
School Work
Occasional Games
Internet Surfing
What do you think about this pc?

In reply to the post about a laptop looking like a Ferrari, there is an actual laptop which is Ferrari designed, slim, 64bit processor (i think) and it looks great
http://www.gizmodo.com/archives/acers-ferrari-laptop-009408.php
and they put a 64-bit processor in
