I have just got a new webcam 'genius videoCAM Web' it just says it has encounted a problem.

I go directly by the manual. It says insert cd, install driver and software. it installs the webcam driver and software and says for me to reboot. i reboot. It says insert webcam into usb. i do and it has that lil yellow thing in the corner saying found new hardware. then after it, it says you have to restart or it might not work properly and it didnt (shows blue). so i restarted. i restart (with usb still in) and when xp loads it says "Still Image (STI) Driver has encountered problem and needs to close. Sorry for inconveniece. Send error report or dont send errory report.

WTF is the problem. Yours sincerly,

ps. it loads on msn alright but shows blue. it also shows blue in Camera Plus software.

pps. i have tried using version 4,3,2. and i even downloaded the fix for that error though still dont work

try unplugging and plugging the webcam  a few times...

Ok you need to uninstall EVERYTHING from that cam that you installed, that includes drivers, software and other addons and stuff. Then follow the instructions exactly that they gave you.
