RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-13-2004 at 11:38 PM You don't need to make two posts about the same topic (although I think you have deleted one of them.) It should go away by itself (it should only appear once.) RE: Mcafee by user35870 on 11-13-2004 at 11:39 PM i deleted it by mistake instead of editing it sorry it comes up everytime RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-13-2004 at 11:43 PM By any chance could you post a screenshot. To take a screenshot press the prntscreen key to copy the screen. Then paste it in paint or some other photo editing software and save it as a Jpg. Then if it's not too big in file size upload it to this server with the Attachment function at the bottom of the reply screen. RE: Mcafee by user35870 on 11-14-2004 at 12:03 AM

RE: Mcafee by user35870 on 11-14-2004 at 12:11 AM ok thanks RE: Mcafee by CookieRevised on 11-14-2004 at 01:14 PM
It's called a splash screen. Splash screens are used in many programs, it is indeed just to show you that the program is starting. RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-14-2004 at 01:17 PM I must admit Cookie I feel his pain it is bludy annoying espcially on a p3 which can't take many programs starting up at the same time and I don't need splash screens to add to that aswell. I can see it is running as the McAfee icon is red in the system tray (if it wasn't it would be black .) Last time I checked I don't think you could turn the spalsh off. In fact, after a simple google search ("splash screen" "security center" "mcafee") here is the solution: RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-14-2004 at 01:44 PM
I might use McAfee again knowing this thanks cookie. RE: Mcafee by user35870 on 11-14-2004 at 01:54 PM
Thanks cookie revised it worked :0 quote: i didn't think mcafee would want u turning it off RE: Mcafee by Anubis on 11-14-2004 at 02:31 PM
quote:Meh, I don't think they'll care...it's a splash screen just to say it's loading, not a big deal. I'm surprised they tell people to do stuff in the registry to get rid of it, tbh...I'd have thought they'd have made an option RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-14-2004 at 02:33 PM I care when I have McAfee on my p3 not my p4 just takes to much of my p3 power to get it too load. RE: Mcafee by Anubis on 11-14-2004 at 02:35 PM
quote:It takes around 7000k of memory when it's loaded...and since you have that computer connected to the internet I'd do it... RE: Mcafee by _Humphreys on 11-14-2004 at 02:44 PM
Meh I think Zone Alarm works just as well. |
