From what i have learned (through leopardo) you can use some programs that do it (partition magic i think is the most famous) but it could end up erasing everything on your computer.

When you format you computer u can do it however, where you format your drive you can split it, it's pretty self explanatory there.

If you already got files/documents on your C: drive you can use Partition Magic 8 to create partitions without loosing any data. I've used it myself without any problems.

Edit: it's always a wise idea to burn your personal files to a CD every now and then. In reply to Ningc_Maniac's post: if you got the OS on CD and your personal stuff, what risk is there? Worst is all files get lost (never happend to me using PM 8) but the only other way is to reformat the HD so it'll be lost then also.

well i dunno formating your comp gives you a fresh new start... so unless everything is super customised with weird settings, i don't see what's bad...

i had to format my pc and it was hell bringing all my settings back, but after a day of hard work i had 2 partitions and a great pc :)

Done done, oh and dont call me ningc... lol i just have that cause "maniac" was taken :dodgy:

oh, and attitude extreme, if ur gonna make partitions, i suggest u have a small couple of gigs partition for your os, so in case something happens, you format that, and your bigger partition with all your files is intact ;)
