We just found this spider in my garden: RE: Weird spider in my garden by user27089 on 11-20-2004 at 02:41 PM that spider is disgusting thats all I know, I found a huge hornet once, it was massive.. i don't know anything about it sorry, I could find out from my father for you if you want though. RE: Weird spider in my garden by FrozernFire on 11-20-2004 at 02:51 PM it also depends on where you live. u live in europe, which i think there are not many dangerous spiders around. but i have to say, a 2cm spider might be poisonous RE: Weird spider in my garden by KeyStorm on 11-20-2004 at 02:52 PM
Well, it's not really huge, but thinking that I life in a rather urban site and that the biggest spider I had ever seen around here was an usual 7mm harmless brown spider, this one is surprising for me. quote:Nah, most tarantulas aren't poisonous at all. The strangest thing about this one is the colour. Most Internet says they aren't, but I don't really know. RE: Weird spider in my garden by Omar on 11-20-2004 at 03:01 PM
wow...did you by any chance live near Dane's house....??? RE: Weird spider in my garden by Vazza on 11-20-2004 at 03:24 PM
basing it on it markings, it looks like Araneus diadematus (possibly a female with the size of the abdomen).Anyways its referred to as the Garden Spider or cross spider. This spider is common in woodlands, heathlands and gardens although human activity in gardens discourages them. Hm, yes, what I thought: an Araneus Diadematus (Garden cross-spider) But it's slightly larger than reported to be (maximal female size is 18mm. and this one is like 21mm. Pregnant, for sure, but still too big. RE: Weird spider in my garden by Vazza on 11-20-2004 at 04:35 PM maybe it a cross species and with global warming, who knows what else you'll find these days RE: Weird spider in my garden by FrozernFire on 11-21-2004 at 05:39 AM mutation *eight legged freaks* might not be cross species as they are more likely to eat each other up RE: Weird spider in my garden by .Roy on 11-21-2004 at 10:08 AM
