(/showthread.php?tid=34742) CPU Temperature? by Caboose on 11-23-2004 at 04:01 AM I wouldn't mind overclocking my CPU (AMD Athlon XP 2000+) a little bit, but I don't want to overheat. I have no clue what my CPU temp is, or how to find out. Any suggestions (preferably software based)? RE: CPU Temperature? by .blade// on 11-23-2004 at 04:05 AM
If your BIOS supports it, use Motherboard Monitor (MBM). RE: CPU Temperature? by Caboose on 11-23-2004 at 04:16 AM
My motherboard isn't on there. Hhmm... Excuse the double post. OK, I got it installed. My case temp is 57 degrees (celsius) and my CPU temp is around 40-45 degrees (celsius). I have read that my CPU temp should not exceed 50 or 55 degrees. Now, just to be sure, I'm supposed to go into my BIOS and increase my Front Side Bus speed a little at a time, correct? quote: The highest temperature (57 degrees celcius) is always ur cpu (core) temp I thought....... If you want to try another easy program for ur temperatures: Speedfan DL: http://www.almico.com/speedfan417.exe URL: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php RE: CPU Temperature? by Caboose on 11-23-2004 at 02:21 PM
Well, it says 'Case 57 degrees C' so... yeah. RE: CPU Temperature? by user13774 on 11-23-2004 at 03:19 PM Not all BIOS'es support overclocking. It depends on ur manufactuer of ur MB if there's overclocking software you can run in Windows. RE: CPU Temperature? by user35870 on 11-23-2004 at 04:29 PM
Is 31 c ok for hd0 in speedfan ? RE: CPU Temperature? by user13774 on 11-23-2004 at 04:48 PM
HD0 is ur harddisk. And 31 is fine I think. My hd0 is 42 C. RE: CPU Temperature? by user35870 on 11-23-2004 at 04:50 PM
quote: yeh proble is it just can't find the right rpm most likly RE: CPU Temperature? by .blade// on 11-23-2004 at 05:21 PM Ya, something's not reading properly (a fan running at 1 RPM would do a whole lot of good ) RE: CPU Temperature? by uberdosis on 11-23-2004 at 07:09 PM
Ive never had anyproblems with speedfan. RE: CPU Temperature? by Caboose on 11-23-2004 at 07:14 PM
Well, there's nothing that I saw that would be used to overclock. I'll check again later though. RE: CPU Temperature? by user35870 on 11-23-2004 at 09:55 PM

I typed in the manufacturer of my BIOS (American Megatrends) and I came up with this page RE: CPU Temperature? by uberdosis on 11-24-2004 at 01:29 AM just leave it then. RE: CPU Temperature? by Caboose on 11-24-2004 at 01:31 AM Meh, alright. Damn this middle aged processor of mine! |
