I know this wouldn't work with nicks, with people constantly changing their names and all, but what about custom names where a@hotmail.com's logfile could be named "Kevin.txt/ple"?

The reason why it is saved by email is because an email doesn't change. Even custom names can change, therefore it will not be done because of the potential mess it can create.

To properly save a log you need a constant, that constant is the emailaddres.
