Right click the link and hit "Save file as". RE: saving flash files by CookieRevised on 01-01-2005 at 05:29 AM
As a matter of fact, you probably already have the file. Look into your "Temporary Internet Files"-folder (if you use MSIE*). and search for files with the extension "SWF", these are your flash animations. So drag them to the folder of your choice, et voila, no extra software needed... quote:For that the user must know the exact URL of the flashfile, and mostlikely he wont know it without digging into the source (and even there it can be quite hard to find it if you're not familiar with html)... Why dont you download flash capture. Its really good. Its integrated with your IE and it will show a floating toolbar over the flash everytime there is one. U can save immediately. U can even check out your cache to see any saved flash files. RE: saving flash files by net-cruizer on 01-01-2005 at 08:29 AM
I used to look in the webpages source for the flash file location, then add the URL into GetRight. RE: saving flash files by M73A on 01-01-2005 at 12:30 PM oh i do this, den send it to ma freinds on msn. just goto tools-> internet options -> settings -> view files........thats with MSIE though.....jus read wat cookierevised said. probs makes more sense dan me.. Now i thought no programs where needed...... i can see 2 files one with the swf and one withg swf.bak or something, anymore help will be appreciated RE: saving flash files by ~INVASION~ on 01-06-2005 at 01:57 AM
just wondering since we are on the subject of saving flash files how can we save flash files to use them as winks RE: saving flash files by belluso_316 on 01-06-2005 at 02:43 AM
the best way to get flash .swf is with a program call save flash. RE: saving flash files by CookieRevised on 01-06-2005 at 12:07 PM
quote:and the internet will not be used... The reason why you get that is because every type of file needs a specific program to view/open it with. eg: for GIF files you need a graphics editor/viewer which supports gif files. For flash files this is just the same. Only most people wont have a standalone flashplayer (free ones do exist though, you'll find them on the net). But what everyone does have is MSIE or another internet browser which does support flash files. So in other words, you can open your saved flash files into your browser. Your browser will read the local flash files, interpret them, and play them. It could well be possible that your Windows calls that "open with or use the internet" when you right click the flash file in Windows, but this is just a name to say: "open it up with MSIE"... Compare it with GIF files if you like: you can open/view localy saved gif files in your browser. All your browser will do is display them and nothing else... In short: no internet will be used when you play local flash files (if the flash file itself doesn't contain any links or so of course). But the tool used to play the flash files will be your internet browser., unless you associate the flash files with another program (like a free flash player). quote:It doesn't have anything todo with flash files in the strict sense; every kind of file can have the extension ".BAK". The extension ".BAK" usually means that the particular file is a backup copy from the original (or another) file. If you think it was originaly a flash file, you could try to rename the file from "something.bak" to "something.swf", and open it in your browser to see if it was a flash file or not.
