IE Debrander by Dan0208 on 01-07-2005 at 12:11 AM

Hi all, im after a program i read about in a neowin forum but no link was posted. it was called IE Debrander and helps to remove things that companies place on your browser window. Not like spyware but for example my ie browser has a big packard bell logo across the top and the window says "Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by OptusNet Cable" even though i dont have optusnet cable my uncle who gave the computer did.
Anyyywayy google is not being much help as every page in results links back to the same download page on this certain site which when u click download just open a couple of ad windows and no download. even when you click the "if your download does not start automatically....." thing.

Thanks for your help
Daniel

Hey,

for the logo's: clean or remove the following registry entry:
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\BrandBitmap"
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\SmBrandBitmap"
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\BackBitmapIE5"

for the window title, change or remote the following registry entry:
"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Window Title"

have fun...
Geniuzzz

U can remove that with system mechanic, ie tweak, tweak xp etc. (Almost any good tweaking problem) Even if u find the reg key and do it its ok but 4 obvious reasons u should be careful in there. There's no need of going in there at all.
Try finding a tweaker for it. Thats easy :)
