Depends on how much you are willing on spending. You want a complete dedicated server or just a reseller account on a decent server? You can get a Celeron 1.3 GHz with 512MB RAM and a 60GB Hdd for 99 a month from EV1. What exactly you looking for?

ok thanks, i will probably go with managed, their prices are much cheaper, for servers hosted in the UK, its about £59/month for an equivalent server (that deal works out at £31/month).

Once i have the server set-up is there any website i can learn the basics about managing a server?

Sure. Webhostingtalk.com, forums.ev1servers.net, and tons of other places. Google it ;). And of course you can usually ask here, a few of us know how to manage servers.
