Hi guys/gals, Dunno if anyone can help me with this but here goes.

Bin using MSN messenger for years w/o any problems but just over a week or so ago, couldnt sign in and kept getting the following msg :

:"Signing in to NET Messenger service failed because the passport is incorrect or the sign in name doesnt exist"

and on BETA

"Sorry we were unable to sign you in to NET Mesenger service at this time,pls. try again later 80072f0d"

Well I've run all the recommended checks and can sign in to my hotmail a/c,so its not my passport password. Also my daughter is having the same problem accessing her a/c on the same computer.

Its almost as if there's a virus in their preventing us accessing.

Any ideas,please ?

Is your email address '.hotmail.com' or '.msn.com'? If no, maybe there are some problems preventing you signing in. It works fine for me though.

Btw, did you try the MSN Web Messenger? Does the Web Messenger let you log in?

If you changed your password you might hav incorrectly typed in what you wanted but if u typed in ure email try check if everything is spelt right

there's a lot of people getting those errors , i sometimes read the msnews server on messenger newsgroup an i see lots of annoyed people posting that  error an or other errors, can you sign into WebMessenger

I think reregistering these 3 dll files will do:

start > run > type: regsvr32 softpub.dll <enter>
start > run > type: regsvr32 initpki.dll <enter>
start > run > type: regsvr32 mssip32.dll <enter>

Now try to sign in again.

Still no luck?

Check your IE Security settings:
Open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check for server certificate revocation" is unchecked. Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL 3.0' is checked, then click OK.

If you still can't login after that, have a look at the first two posts in possible solutions for....

I could feel myself getting happier as that wasn't posted then Sunshine did lol
