O.K, i've just made my new website (PigBoy Online) and (because I didn't know anything about it, and still dont') have just discovered there is a Portal page. I have just been using the index page. The portal seems to be like a normal portal except I can't figure a way to post things on it. If you go here you will see what I mean. RE: Forum Portal by Eljay on 01-31-2005 at 07:59 PM the portal page doesnt load, mysql error RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 01-31-2005 at 08:02 PM
try again, i had that or try this: http://pigboy.freesuperhost.com/Forum/portal.php RE: Forum Portal by Eljay on 01-31-2005 at 08:10 PM nope still same error RE: Forum Portal by WDZ on 01-31-2005 at 08:11 PM
wtf... code:That doesn't seem to be a MyBB query... Anyways, you should see a setting in your admin cp called "Forum ID to pull announcements from"... you need to enter an fid number there, and then the portal will get its content from posts in that forum. RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 01-31-2005 at 08:13 PM
go to http://pigboy.freesuperhost.com/Forum/index.php and click on the link at the bottom that says 'PigBoy Online'. Thats another why to get to the portal. try that. do you know how to post things on the forum 'cause I could just do what you think quote:I cant find it anywhere. All there is is a section called Anoucements that puts a certain post in every forum, but there is no option to have it on the portal. RE: Forum Portal by WDZ on 01-31-2005 at 08:17 PM
quote:There's still a MySQL error. RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 01-31-2005 at 08:25 PM EDIT: It's O.K, i've dont it. thanks for all your help. i'm not sure why it wouldn't work for all you. It worked for everyone else. RE: Forum Portal by WDZ on 01-31-2005 at 08:36 PM
quote:It's under Settings. The URL should be http://pigboy.freesuperhost.com/Forum/admin/settings.php. There's a bunch of settings related to the portal... code: quote:I tried everything, including a proxy, and the portal does not work. RE: Forum Portal by Sunshine on 01-31-2005 at 08:55 PM
http://pigboy.freesuperhost.com/Forum/portal.php RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 01-31-2005 at 09:21 PM
I'm not sure why it's not working. I use Mozilla Firefox and I'm pretty sure my friend uses IE. She said it worked fine for her, so I don't know what to do. RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 02-01-2005 at 08:42 PM
UPDATE: RE: Forum Portal by WDZ on 02-01-2005 at 08:45 PM Well, do you know WTF "3306links" is? Have you installed some kind of mod? What are those ads at the top of every page? RE: Forum Portal by Plik on 02-01-2005 at 08:47 PM
quote:They are from the host he's one (i used the same). And they are very forcefull. For example they forced themselves onto a php image script of mine messing it up. So its a good chance that they are to blame RE: Forum Portal by Jimcando on 02-01-2005 at 08:48 PM
they probably are to blame, 'cause its working now RE: Forum Portal by Eljay on 02-02-2005 at 08:06 AM
