Since I started using Msn 7 I wondered what this "star" was next to people's names can anyone tell me what it is?

Thats showing the person has an "MSN Space", see http//spaces.msn.com

it means they have updated their msn space. Open their contact card, right to the dp are liks to their space, the latest news, pictures and their blog.

I think this says who is on msn7, cause only the persons I know and use 7 have this, people on 6 don't have this

No it isn't as the people above said that star confirms they have an msn space.

The people I know don't have this and they also have such a star, but yeah if he says so he can be right

logicly the msn spcae have been introduced with msn7... soo.. if u do the maths ppl with msn 6.2 don't rlly have any.. that's why most people with msn 7 have the spaces.. but once again, this gleam thing is not people using msn 7, but ppl having updated their spaces.

You can have a Space and have MSN 6.2.

yes, but in msn 7, you get gleams, which tells everyone on your contact list when your blog is updated.

my understanding is that microsoft just combined the msn profiles page to msn messenger 7 and called it my space or something along this line. If your contact created his profile he should have a star.
