well, you have to put a password in to open the file, is it not feasible to set the file so that it asks for that password when you want to delete/move/etc the file?? RE: Hide the log files by TGG on 02-19-2005 at 11:58 AM
If you hide the folder containing the chat logs by right-clicking the folder and choosing hidden, then when the link in the plus menu is clicked the folders will not be visible. RE: Hide the log files by mandorallen on 02-19-2005 at 01:57 PM But his sons can do this again and they will see the files (if they are not stupids, they can think about the folder is hidden if they go to the last folder shown by Msg Plus! and they don't see any file there) RE: Hide the log files by Patchou on 02-20-2005 at 08:36 AM Hiding the folder is a good idea, you can also password protect the preferences of Messenger Plus! to prevent your children from seeing the log path (or changing it). RE: Hide the log files by WDZ on 02-20-2005 at 08:45 AM I wonder if you could tweak the NTFS permissions (in Windows NT/XP) so your kids aren't allowed to delete files in that folder. You'd probably have to allow reading and writing of files so MsgPlus! could access the logs, but deleting/moving shouldn't be necessary unless you have log archiving enabled... |
