I just visited the danish portal www.gratis-ting.dk when I saw some sort of popup which uses the Messenger Plus! logo (
).
Maybe they have the permisson to use it but I dont think so, i'm asking here.
The titel says "Gratis-ting.dk recommends Evind.dk". The text says "Win a luxus LCD TV from Evind.dk"
Just check www.gratis-ting.dk out, and see for yourself.

Hmm, I'm sure that Patchou won't be happy and will write them a nice long letter, the company will have to remove it, it is fully copyrighted and registered to Patchou... and Guido afaik? Unsure about that bit .

They are probably unsure about it, for all we know they may have seen it on another site and thought it was just a free to use image...

Ye, I don't think that they got it off of a random website, thought it was a free image and designed the popup in the same theme as a Messenger Plus! toaster, what aa coincidence

do you think it would be fair if you just found that image on the net and thought it would fit very well in your website?.. thats what theyve done probably..and without knowing that it was copyrighted..

My hope was that if Patchou got enough money from people illegaly using his copyrighted content, then he would have enough money to take the sponsor out of Plus!. Never going to happen, but anyways.
You're right, sueing really doesn't solve anything, it just makes people angry. And it can also give bad publicity.
