DDoS Attack.... RE: RE: Forum downtime... by sock on 01-26-2003 at 08:49 PM
quote:Microsoft has already released a patch for this flaw a long time ago, but many system administrators obviously haven't updated their software as they should have. Let's hope this doesn't ever happen again. RE: Forum downtime... by Thor on 01-26-2003 at 09:16 PM Well, the problem is that many are having difficulties updating because of the virus. After all, you have to download that as well, and the virus is causing many people a good deal of trouble with their bandwidth. It might take a while updating all the systems when you're having problems getting a signal through on the internet at all. Not to mention if your connection times out every few minutes. RE: Forum downtime... by Captain Canada on 01-26-2003 at 09:42 PM I give a to the web team for getting this site back up so fast! Lots of sites are still down. Good job guys. RE: Forum downtime... by Thor on 01-26-2003 at 10:20 PM Yeah, indeed Good job RE: Forum downtime... by Swaptor on 01-26-2003 at 10:22 PM
Stupid worms, and those administrators should be more aware of the vulnerabilities of their systems... RE: Forum downtime... by Mnjul on 01-27-2003 at 01:11 AM
Well seems MySQL is better(higher security and free) RE: Forum downtime... by dennistt on 01-27-2003 at 03:57 AM My personal server was up and running through the weekend but that may be because my server's only less than ten meters away from where I sit right now. Except that my dns hoster went down with the worm. RE: Forum downtime... by dennistt on 01-27-2003 at 03:58 AM
