Quentin Tarantino director of movie flicks such as 'Reservoir Dogs' and 'Pulp Fiction' will now try his hand with horror film 'Friday the 13th,' as both Hollywood director and New Line Cinema are scheduled to meet this week. If everything works out according to the plan, it could be Tarantino’s first film outside Miramax Films as a director.
Tarantino is also considering writing as well as directing the next “Friday the 13 th,” which stars the hockey mask-wearing pyschopath Jason Voorhees, as the Oscar-winning director already has a story and opening montage worked out in his head.
His agent said Tarantino always dreamt of doing a Jason movie. New Line Cinema, which grossed $82 million at the US box office for its 2003 episode Freddy Vs Jason, is also anxious to get another sequel in production.
New Line had originally set out to persuade director Sam Raimi to license his Evil Dead hero, Ash, for a sequel aptly titled Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, but those dreams were dashed when the deal fell apart.
Apart from “Friday,” which is still in it's premature negotiations stage, Tarantino has signed a deal to write and direct the season finale of CBS' hit series CSI. He's also planning to shoot another kung fu saga that will hit theaters in 2006.
Before “Friday,” Tarantino had volunteered to direct James Bond new movie. But Tarantino's offer was turned down by the Bond producers and Martin Campbell will direct the upcoming Casino Royale.

Hmm, sounds pretty cool to me, I like the quentin tarantino films, he has a very unique style of directing .
By Friday the 13th, do they mean the remake of the one from the 70's, or a new one?!. Friday the 13th only had parts of Jason in, and it was when he was a kid, his mum was the psyco .

This is supposed to be from what I have been reading from other sources a brand new movie with the grown up jason kind of the sequel to Freddy VS Jason but they don't know yet. I like Tarantino he is awesome. He is also a pretty decent actor remember From Dusk Til Dawn? AWESOME

Dusk to Dawn was fucked
Hmm Friday 13th....Jason films....has bad written all over it.
I mean Jason X oh dear. oh dear, oh dear.
Then there was Jason Vs. Freddy and it was like please just crawl into a small hole and never come back.
If tarrintino makes this i doubt i would see it and i'm a bloody big tarrintino fan.

I have to admit that these 'un-dead killer' flicks are a bit annoying, I think the thing now is zombie flicks ... I love them, I just watched Dawn of the Dead, and it rocked completely...
All Jason films were crappy. I mean, I haven't watched all of them, but I've watched enough to know that they suck. Freddy vs. Jason was crappy, funny at parts, like when the kid suddenly got a pole that was on fire... I mean, wtf he was just like .
