Hello,

This thread is about a contest that my third party Messenger Plus! Website will be doing ("Messenger Plus! Zone").  I cannot release too many details right now, however, at/after saturdays General Meeting I can.  Anyway, there will be two contests going on at the same time, both related and for real prizes.

Contest Prize Package 1:
This is the original prize package that we were going to offer.

First Prize: iPod Shuffle (512MB or 1GB -- Depending on Revenue)

Contest Prize Package 2:
This package was added upon myself and Time's discussion.

First Prize: $50 worth of purchasable merchandise, DVDs, Books, etc.
Second Prize: A Music CD of your choice OR an iTunes $15 giftcard.

Suggest your own!  We have been having so much trouble thinking of prize packages and trying to decide on which one, I am asking you to suggest your own or vote for one of the existing packages.  I will edit this top post as suggestions come in, and in one week or so I will discuss with Time the top option that was chosen.

The General Meeting (for those of you wondering) will take place at 3PM EST on Saturday, March 12th, 2005 on irc.msgplus.net, channel is #msgpluszone.  Alternatively, you can click here (mIRC users) to join!

NOTICE: The limit for the amount of money we currently have is $150, however, depending on revenue during the contest we may add/delete prizes.

I say that the dvd's and cd's should be the best, I really don't want an iPod shuffle for some reason :s.

Heh.  Right now, I should clarify that these forums are not like myBB 1.0 RC3 and you cant edit vote counts, but since I added thinkgeek certificate it erased all votes, so if you've voted, DONT VOTE AGAIN!  iPod Shuffle Count (before delete): 16, DVDs, Books, Etc Count (before delete): 6.

Well since it's such a hot item (millions of units pre-sold) and the release is just around the corner - why not a Playstation Portable as like the grand prize in one of these?

It's $249.99 USD and comes with a bunch of accesories. IMHO ppl would like it a lot more than an iPod Shuffle :P

Gotta go for Package 2: DVDs, CDs, Books, Misc., some people may not want an iPOD shuffle, however DVDs, CDs, Books and stuff can apply to anyone, ThinkGeek limits you, (and some people may not like buying from them, a minority I know). DVDs and Books are anyones cup of tea

Lol, Okies, this thread has grown quickly.  To answer a few questions, to clarify, the chat is tommorow at 3PM Eastern Standard Time at irc.msgplus.net in the channel #msgpluszone.

As for the PSP, it currently isnt with in our funding limit, Our funding limit is $150 for all three packages (a.k.a. $150 of ThinkGeek Certificate, $150 in Music and Books, and $150 in iPod Shuffle (probably 1GB model)).

Should our revenue increase as greatly as expected during the contest, I will certainly add it as an option.
