3DMark (2003/2005) - http://www.futuremark.com/download/ (Not completly free, but you can still do the benchmarks )
- 2005 = 283MB
- 2003 = 178MB

Also, some games have benchmarking demos. I know Unreal Tournament 2003/2004 does.
