Once msgplus comes out on Thursday what msn messenger will you use for it? For the first time ever theres a large choice of options available with all the different msn 7 betas available at the moment or sticking with the current official msn messenger 6.

I might download msn messenger 7 the official beta on the microsoft website. Any major problems with it? Just because I want to see the full potential of the new msgplus.

Again thanks for the programs Patchou, i know you get a lot of these messages but all your hard work is truly appreciated in giving us this wonderful free program. :)

And i can't wait until thursday:o)

There are no major problems with the msn messenger public beta, if there were, they wouldn't have made it public, don't use any leaks, i'll be using the public beta for use with it, it works completely fine anyway, the new msgplus has been majorly built for use with msn 7, but it still has the same old features for 6.2 :p.

I'll personally be using the MSN 7.0.0xx (cant remember the version and im not at home to check) but its not the one from msn website

Yeah i won't use any leaks i don't see any real point in it if theres a public beta. Anyone know what got changed in the leaks inbetween the first beta and the current leak? I bet its something trivial such as sound not not adjusting to the right level or something equally pointless...

as a beta tester, i would stick with 7.0.0632 :)

What time zone is the forum set in...it says 11:58 yesterday for the last post but i thought patchou was set in north america meaning it should be be today already...

The forum time is set for you, you can change this in user cp.

The forum time is set for you, you can change this in user cp.

And I'll stay up, it'll be released on 17/03 @ 1:00AM for Argentinians. :P

Yep, you're right, 632 is the latest avalaible Build. :)

.632 is a private build for beta testers only, it is not a publically available version. Using it while you're not a beta tester is illegal....


This said, there are differences between 7.0.0425 and 7.0.0632, and some bugs in .425 have been fixed.

Personaly I still will be using 6.2 (for as long I can)

Yes, and besides 7.0.0632 has some new things. Not very much, but still it has some handy things. (Especially always log in as)

.0632 isn't leaked if you're a official MSN Messenger tester. Otherwise it is.

Because having betas, expecially leaked ones, isn't cool.
I sometimes find myself confused by the fact that people prefer betas, not only for MSN Messenger but for all programs, rather than stable versions.

I understand you're point, but I do think it's neccesary for people to try and test betas and help improve them. And of course betas have stuff that stable versions don't have yet :P.

I believe it has become a "fashion" to have beta versions of everything. 8-)

And companies are getting the best of it, the more beta testers they have, the more bugs report they get. However, public betas (esp. for widely used programs) reports must be very hard to understand and not many will be useful, because many people don't know the difference between user errors and program bugs. *-)

I think I'll stay on 6.2 for a while, atleast until Messenger 7 full is released. It's just not best with old machine and Messenger 7 :)

i'll be using this current MSN 7 public Beta (7.0.0425). Then i'll upgrade to the final version of MSN 7 when it's released.
