Ive installed a custom background contact list picture, and I was wondering if there was any way to change the font/increase the size of the font that is used to list the contact names?

I only want these font changes to apply to the contact list, and not when Im typing messages.

I was wondering the same, because I noticed the 7.0.0632 beta uses a smaller font in the contact list... and I think it doesn't look good.

Plus can do this, just its a hidden registary setting
download the Plus Tweak by Choli to edit it easyly

Note: Plus tweak my not be compatable with the new version of plus, but as long as the reg setting has stayed the same you will be fine

I know Plus! Tweak has a setting for the font in the Plus! windows, but i didnt know about the contact list, are you sure?

i cliked on da link u gave and downloaded it but it cam up run time error

Downloading the tweak file results in:

"run-time error 339"

component comctl32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.


I assume it doesnt work yet with the new mess.plus.....

Trying to edit the registry on my own, and I dont even ctclistfont as an entry......

That was what I was using to try to edit it.  I just dont see any entry for ctclistfont to edit....

Plus! Tweak! for Plus! 3.50

I still get a runtime error when I try to run this.

I had the same error. I attached comctl32.ocx, place this file in the same folder as where PlusTweak is, extract it and PlusTweak will work fine

Edit: newer ocx

This worked like a charm to get the tweaks program running.

However, none of the changes that I'm making to ctclistfont are showing up in messenger...

Did you close MSN Messenger whilst tweaking? Have you restarted MSN?

Ive tried tweaking it with both MSN closed and open.  Ive re-started it both times.

Im changing the font, font size, and boldness and then hitting the change button and closing the Tweaks window.

restarting MSN results in no change to the font.

very odd.

I am not sure about this, but I believe this (the contact list format thing) doesn't work on MSN Messenger 7.

Because since I upgraded my MSNM I lost the ability to change the contact list's font.

If you're using MSNM7, then maybe that's the problem. If not, make sure you exit MSNM completely and see if it changed.

Hmm . That sucks.. I think the font in the contact list in 7.0.0632 is a bit too small

Patchou already said he will update the registry page to say that the contact list font size thingy is Messenger 6 only. Maybe Choli needs to update his program too

The tweaker will still work for other settings in MSN 7/Plus!, aslong as Plus! calls upon things that are still the same in MSN 7.

The Tweaker calls upon hidden Plus! registry settings. 

Well Im glad we at least found an answer, even if it isn' the one I was looking for .

dam i just tried to change my font but then read here i cant with 7 That sux cause neither of the size options in msn for contacts in the main window is good
