quote: This was recently posted on mess.be. i was wondering if there is an english version anywhere and/or how easy it would be to translate. this would be extremely cool to use in school thanks RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Caboose on 03-21-2005 at 11:49 PM I would like an English version of this too RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by RaceProUK on 03-22-2005 at 12:17 PM You may just be able to switch msgslang.dll with an English one. Haven't tried it myself (although I like the idea of Risico: may put it on my pen drive). RE: RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by M73A on 03-22-2005 at 04:39 PM
quote:oh yea my pen drive gd idea....i think its a fantastic idea....people just use e-messenger in school atm but this would be great, shared documents , lol... well lots of people would use it, just the fact its writtten in dutch RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Raven89 on 03-22-2005 at 05:33 PM You can replace the msgslang.dll with a version 6.2 one it should work, because I know 7.0 doesnt. RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by benellis2007 on 03-22-2005 at 05:35 PM gilly messenger RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by ~INVASION~ on 03-22-2005 at 05:43 PM i dont think gilly would be as useful because it doesnt give the same functionality that this does, like not having to install anything. But even when i tried it, it had an instalation screen :/ RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by M73A on 03-22-2005 at 05:49 PM does gilly messenger work in english if you replace the .dll with the 6.2 .dll file? i dont have it on hand.... Gilly messenger didn't need any install but it's gone forgood RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Ezra on 03-22-2005 at 06:21 PM MSN Messenger doesn't need to installed ... Just copy the folder MSN Messenger and put it on a USB stick, and doubleclick msnmsgr.exe, while working on a computer without msn and it starts... that's how I do it at school... RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by crank on 03-22-2005 at 06:25 PM how about the reg keys that get made whyen msnmsgr.exe runs? quote: OMG WHY DIDNT I KNOW YOU COULD DO THIS BEFORE?! thanks a lot. im takin msn to school but dont have rights to run .exe's would that stop msnmsgr.exe? RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by benellis2007 on 03-22-2005 at 09:51 PM is risico any good. is it based on msn messenger RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by M73A on 03-22-2005 at 09:54 PM apparently it is exactely like msn messenger but in dutch...thats why english people can use it if they can remember the buttons on 6.2 because they are the same... as my first post says RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Supersonicdarky on 03-22-2005 at 09:56 PM just wondering, how do u uninstall it since it doesn't show up in add/remove programs? RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by benellis2007 on 03-22-2005 at 09:56 PM how wud u put it on a school computer then, is there any way RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by M73A on 03-22-2005 at 09:57 PM
quote:i dont think it gets installed it just runs from the .exe (i think its possible ive got a 'deepdelete' program that works like that... RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Supersonicdarky on 03-22-2005 at 10:00 PM is there a file on the net that isn't zipped? my school doesn't have winzip on normal computers RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by CookieRevised on 03-23-2005 at 03:33 AM
quote:Excuse me, but the first thing I see when I run the program is: This will install Risico Messenger. Installation will NOT be visible to Administrator. Do you Agree? yeah right Furthermore, what is it? Well it is nothing more then the original version of MSN Messenger 6.2.0205 executable, with msglang.dll (dutch version), msgsc.dll and custsat.dll... all original files. I can tell you already 1 thing: This will not work on all systems. MSN Messenger needs far more things to be installed to work properly. If MSN Messenger is installed on your system it does not only install those 4 files, but installs a whole lot more... Also, all the registry settings will still be placed and used in their normal locations. Again far more locations then you think... quote:DUH! Like I said, it only consists of 4 original files of the original MSN Messenger setup (which normaly consist of more then 20 files needed!). And of course everything is in the same place; it isn't modified or anything. They make it sound like a feature or something special or so. Don't be fooled! You can just as easy copy and use those 4 files to your USB pen drive or whatever and it will be EXACTLY the same and behave EXACTLY the same as this "special" MSN Messenger... (meaning: on some system it will cause more errors then anything else because MSN Messenger wasn't installed properly). Am I surprised and do I find this "new" messenger cool? Not at all in the slithest way. This wil cause more errors then it will do good. And I'm VERY surprised that this is on mess.be news... -------------------------------------------------- So, to answer the questions: quote:There is nothing special about this "Risico" Messenger... Just copy those 4 files which I listed above from your own messenger directory and you will have EXACTLY the same. quote:Yes it does (to work properly)! quote:Since there is nothing special about this "Risico" Messenger; it is simply a copy of the original MSN Messenger, it uses all the keys like Messenger normaly would. quote:By removing the files. BUT! every registry key used by MSN Messenger will still be in your registry! RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by M73A on 03-23-2005 at 07:30 AM WOAH. CookieRevised the same 4 files? didn't mess.be know that then coz kinda pointless them posting it as news if thats all it is RE: Risico Messenger - English Version anywhere? by Caboose on 03-23-2005 at 07:36 AM
