It's a pretty nifty messenger that can control AIM, YIM, and MSN accounts. I had it for a while until I quit using AIM and YIM and just start using MSN only. RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by Purity on 03-28-2005 at 12:09 AM There also is a program called IM2.... RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by Concord Dawn on 03-28-2005 at 12:19 AM Nothing replaces MSN because MSN has Plus! RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by M73A on 03-28-2005 at 12:20 AM

Anyway May73Alliance, your friend could try out the various Web based Messenger's featured on Mess.be if Trillian or Gaim don't work. quote:has she got online? has she fixed it? if so how did she fix it? thank you RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by ~INVASION~ on 03-28-2005 at 01:11 AM nope she hasnt been able to fix it...ive suggested so many things to her, none of them work. everyone else in her house can sign in but she cant so shes forced to use emessenger since it works. It really bugs me because this seems to be the only thing i havnt been able to fix for someone RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by gif83 on 03-28-2005 at 01:15 AM has your friend tried to sign on messenger using a different .NET passport? do it to find out if it really is just her computer or whether something has happened to make the account messed up. RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by ~INVASION~ on 03-28-2005 at 01:18 AM
well her borothers and sisters can sign in so its not the comp......just her:/ RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by gif83 on 03-28-2005 at 01:22 AM well my suggestion applies to both. i suggest just getting a new account if this is the case. RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by albert on 03-28-2005 at 01:24 AM can he try webmessenger? http://webmessenger.msn.com RE: RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by gif83 on 03-28-2005 at 01:29 AM

it might be the firewall, try disabling the firewall and see if it works. RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by Hank on 03-28-2005 at 11:06 AM i dont recommend Gaim in windows .. its ugly in windows....use Trillian RE: Alternatives to msn messenger by dreaded on 03-28-2005 at 01:48 PM Mercury is pretty good. Look here or here to. I think it could be a firewall problem or try emptying the temp files, CCleaner is a good free cleaner. Might try to update the passport. If she is using version 7 she can pull up all the accounts that signs in with messenger and delete the one she having a problem with and add it back. If she dont have msn messenger 7 and has xp she can look at the different accounts that sign into messenger in user accounts in control panel, choose the user and look to the left and hit Manage my network passwords. I would restart after I removed a account btw and even do a cleaning. Another thing is if you can find the folder for her account in C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\, might try to delete it. If you do that though she will lose all her emotes and backgrounds etc... . I would look around on mess and their forums and bigblue forums to. |
