I believe this is a bug, I tried to re-produce the bug but since the nature of the bug it won't tell it is a bug or not. anyway, here u go patchou:


Bug analysis:
My chatlogs resides in  D:\Documents\My Chat Logs and is specified in the preferences option. I wanted to encrypt ALL chat logs but only *.txt files in the root directory (D:\Documents\My Chat Logs) are encrypted and not the logs in the monthly subdirectories.

Directory structure:

D:\Documents\My Chat Logs
D:\Documents\My Chat Logs\superkimmxxxxx@hotmail.com.ple
D:\Documents\My Chat Logs\October 2002\ not encrypted txt files
D:\Documents\My Chat Logs\February 2005\not encrypted txt files



The filenames are emailadress.txt files and are produced by Messenger PLus in the past. these files are untouched and uses the normal naming convention by messenger plus. THe chat logs are 3 years old, dating from 2002. The files and folders are editable/writable.

Application info:
MSN Messenger 6.2.0205
Messenger PLus 3.5.0124 March 16th version
Microsoft XP Professional English SP 2 and latest patches.

Bug-reproduction in 2 manners:

Unticked the encryption option, decrypted the files. ticked the encryption option, encrypted the root residing files only, not the files in the monthly subfolders.

Uninstalling/Reboot/Install/activated encryption: same result.
