Hello!

I just released Messenger Plus! version 2.01. It can still be considered as a beta version, however there are some important updates that I'd like all of you to befinit now. First of all, the download link: http://pages.infinit.net/patchou8/MsgPlus.exe . Please, update your mirrors!

The first update is for me and it concerns auto-update... please redistribute this version to the maximum of people you can... the more people have this version installed, the less problems I'll have to put my server back online. Here is a a complete list of update from 2.00.16 to 2.01.17. Enjoy!

• Big bug fixed (could be considered as a new feature) : you can now mix as many emoticons as you want with as many multi-format tags as you want and everything will be displayed fine! I'm sure a lot of people will be happy, including people that want to use multi-format tags in their nickname.
  
• Auto-update feature debugged.
  
• You can use Messenger 3.6 even if Messenger Plus! 2.00 is installed.
  
• Added registry option to diplay AM/PM time with Personalised Away message.
  
• Uninstaller is more carefull when deleting files. Also, it properly removes your Messenger Plus! preferences from the registry now.
  
• New invisible feature added to ensure that Messenger starts AFTER Messenger Plus! when Windows starts.
  
• You can now use special tags with commands.
  
• Added an option to auto-save logs at a specified interval. By default it is 30 minutes (if you're paranoid, you can put this value to 1 minute).
  
• Logs are properly saved even when the file is originally read-only.
  
• Always On Top option in Messenger is never removed automatically for nothing.
  
• No more crash when Messenger 5 can't be properly hooked in Windows XP.
  
• Messenger 5 / XP compatibility improved.
  
• In the log files, the Session start date should be always good now.
  
• Personalised Away little improvements: when already in this mode, going to the Perso Away screen again displays the current text to allow quick corrections. Also, you can switch from one perso-away mode (using shortcuts) to another without having to put yourself back online before.
  
• Added a very simple easter egg... just some kind of credits. I wanted that for a long time .

I've got a problem.  I just downloaded the update but cant run it.  It says the file is not a valid Win32 application.

Mean anything?

i downloaded MSN 2.00.17 and i go to the main MSN menu, click on Plus! an go to about, and it says 2.00.16....

Sock will have some work to do today, updating the mirrors page again...

I just installed... it's working great, as usual.

I downloaded the MsgPlus.exe from the main download and now I'm getting Version 2.00.16 on the Plus about screen???

Install it again or uninstall first the old MP! version and then install the new one

Does anyone know how to block sites from linking to my download? I seem to get a lot of refers from warez sites and spanish (I think) tech sites, which I don't really like.

I like the update, though i havn't had a chance to take a look at the latest update cause messenger decides to not want to connect to the server.
But with the previous first release of Plus! 2 i was excited about all these neat new addons etc that has been put in and it looks great however there was one small item that disappointed me.
Out of all the irc commands you left out one to which is widely used besides the /me command and thats the /nick command.
I can make colour nicks by either using NickEXP (mess.be) or i could just create it in an active message window and copy the text to the Nickname box in Tools.
A /nick would speed up this greatly as well as those that would like a way to change their nicknames quickly.

I've also noticed that http://msgplus.patchou.com/ does not open for me, whats the go with the website?

What is an invisible mode?  If you're talking about appearing offline, while being online, MSN already has a "Appear Offline" feature.  if you don't want one person to see you online, just block them.

For the last time: u don't have to modify the MSN executables if u want to sign in invisible (appear offline when u sign in). There are at least three other ways to do this that I know of (and none are illegal). The fact is, Patchou won't add it because it is either hard to do from his point of programming (which I doubt), or he has moral issues (which I have to agree with) or the use doesn't rate as high as the trouble of implementing it.
