I just noticed this bug in MsgPlus after installing the 7.0.0732 release of MSN.

When typing ( in a conversation, all pages display the standard MSN emoticons.

I am running MsgPlus 3.5.

I thought the problem might have been related to the number of emoticons I had installed, so i removed a heap and this didn't alter the problem.

Noticed a german (??) post which seemed to be about a similar topic.. anyone know what the translated response was???

I think you are referring to my post at emoties.

I advised him to make sure he had configured the pages appropriately. When you go to Plus! > Preferences > Message Helpers > Quick Icons, you can click the Configure button for full control over the panels. Perhaps you can alter some settings there to resolve this

yeah did that already (although via the alternative way in)...

have tried making page 3 the "automatically display my custom emoticons in this panel",.....

turned the option off, turned 'display the original messenger emoticons in this panel' on.. turned it off ..

turned the option off for page 1 (default for defaults) and turned the custom option on for it .. still no diff ..

every panel shows the defaults and clicking them produces the default page ..

i can still type the shortcuts for my customs, but they don't display in the quick panel ..
