Hello,

Well just as I was about to go to bed, someone added me to there contact list-  named :: "Get the new Messenger Plus now! [URL REMOVED]". I accepted, and the user just said a few times::

"get the new Messenger Plus [URL REMOVED]".

So - basicaly due to the competion some dude is going around adding people to his MSN, spamming to win the prize, and blocking the user. Its seriously annoying, has anyone else got this problem? Id like this idiot to be removed from the contest and a public announcment be made to embarase him and set an example of what will happen if you spam to win.

The ID in the link (may help find who he is) is: 16301

With an email address of:  swifter_fly@hotmail.com.

No idea who the dude is, just added me to spam me - then blocked me.

Iv made the matter aware to MSN for a start.

I have a full log of the whole conversation and I am willing to give it to someone who will deal with the matter.

Its all about trust. I think the way he is going about promoting MSGPlus! is cheating (by spamming).

At least a warning... he could have had intentions of spreading Messenger Plus... and just used his referral ID without giving it any mind....

Thank you for reporting. I checked the chances of this user and apparently, nobody has increased his chances. For now, I'll consider the matter closed, if he bothers you again, please create a new thread (spamming is definitively not tolerated).

I understand you in a way, and don't in another...

What you have to remember is that the cotest is about getting new users to get msg plus!

Now of course you shouldn't exgerate it by spamming or adding ppl you don't know, but now to ask for the guy to be out of the contest..? I don't belive anyone will  do it..

I don't think so man, what proofs does the guy have that this is true..?  could get you out of the contest too if admins wod kick pplout without proofs..

Firstly; Thank you all for your help, you have all been kind to look into and commet on the matter.

Secondly; Yes log files are easy to make, but I wont bother wasting my time creating fake ones just to spoil the competition. I dont want to spoil the competition on anyone, but I dont like spammers and I feel that adding people randomly to his MSN List and spamming them with his link is wrong. Its cheating. Either a warning be passed to inform him hes being watched, or be disqalified for cheating/spamming (which it is).

Thirdly; I have both MSN Messenger format and MSGPlus! format logs in un-edited form ready to hand up if required.

And finaly, if people have this attitude "You could of made it all up" then how, explain to me, are people supposed to report spam via messenger or even abuse? When it could all be just "made up"? Dont tell me you dont report it - I know that people do report to MSN about spam and abuse done on messenger.

Anyway, I dont think I need to say anymore, I made my points clear enough

Well the fact is it shouldnt happen. Its a violation of MSN' TOS as far as I know (spamming) and its a form of cheating in any competition.

no one really reports spam.. at least no one i know.. The person spaming can allways get out of it.. Chat logs faked or the screenshot was fake whatever theres no way to get them...

what happens if u tracked there ip see if they can send u multiple times and see what ip's u get? Thats g2 be a way!

Take it positively for the growth of msgplus! if the person is spreading msgplus!.....
and as far as contest concerned.. then there should be some action taken if the person is spmamming..
