New "avatar removed" images by WDZ on 04-16-2005 at 04:46 AM

Since so many good images were posted, we need a poll to decide which ones to use.

Vote now to decide what images you want to see when someone's avatar has been removed by a mod or admin. If the results are close, I might have to use more than one set of images and alternate them with a script.

BTW, you can click the images in the poll options to see the original posts.

I like Keystorms if the user is using the default theme, otherwise I like Brian's. Anyway you can set it to do something like that? :P

I could do some more to adapt to the other themes if really needed. I thought to make them alpha shaded to adapt them to the alternating backgrounds of the posts, but then I thought about the 60% of users who'd still have to wait until next year to get decent PNG compatibility in their browsers. :P

Keystorm i dont vote for myself because i want to win that bad. I just think mine is really good :) I think yours doesnt match the default skin that i use...

I'm not saying you're doing that. But it's still dodgy, because you have a subjective opinion about yours, and inconciusly may think it's the best. Same happens to me, for this reason i choose among other's avatars.

I think KS's would be my choice IF everyone was using the default theme... damn it really fits... anyway.. i voted on LJ's because it doesnt require any specific theme to look well...

Hum.. KS could make different avatar removed images for each theme but that would require a LOT of work on KS part and WDZ part...

The fact is, paperless, that there's lots of avatar designing on this board and I haven't seen any that purposely matches any theme. There is no need to sort of adapt something to one theme, and not doing so doesn't necessarily mean it will look bad on other themes. But I think it definitely looks good on the default one used by the vast majority of users (correct me if I'm wrong).

Other than that... I just thought WDZ could replace the avatar with a DIV from a template imitating my avatar's (if they're finally chosen) This would allow to match all themes and it would work sionce the avatar itself is a separate part of the template. Replacing this using his script by some html wouldn't be very hard, I think.

I like Keystorms Avatar removed the most, to be honest.  It blends in with the forum theme, which is great, because im obsessed with stuff being perfect.

Anyone who had the old "Avatar Removed" image now has no avatar at all. :p

From now on, the new images will be used when a mod removes an avatar.
