Does someone know how to get this off?
When I try to send or receive .mp3 file, I get "This file has been blocked because it is potentially unsafe" And its the newest 7.0 -version

You need File Extension Unblocker:

blah beaten anyway still some info in my post so I'll leave it
In the newest version of msn mircosoft has blocked dangerious file extentions.
there are plenty of threads about this just look at http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=41359
one way to defeat this protection is too use mess patch from mess.be and tick the option which removes blocked extentions

Well, there can be virus' in mp3 according to winamp, which actually had a major security hole which allowed certain virus' to affect the computer via. winamp. It is because they're considered safe when people download them from kazaa and play them in winamp then the virus infects the computer...
Therefore, it is technically unsafe...

Why can't there be an option in MSN that you can disable and enable this, rather than having to GO THROUGH GETTING ALL YOUR FRIENDS (who have no idea what they're doing) TO GET THEM UNBLOCKED.
If they blocked the executable codes, then had the stuff that makes no sense as an option it'd be great.

No, it was MP3's coming through Kazaa etc. that may have been then sent through... Trojans...
I doubt that microsoft would ever have an option where you could check the extensions that you want to receive...
As Mp3s are also a main source of the file-shared music, therefore, decreasing the amount of file-sharing via. msn and increasing the income of the money that comes in through MSN Music...

AVI are also blocked by default, the extfix and a-patch helped in it too. just to let you know, cause everyones talking only about mp3..
