New Messenger - Issues by Riking on 04-20-2005 at 11:10 PM
I've now finished installing the latest release of Msn Messenger, but I've got some issues I can't solve.
1. I was supposed to have some standard packages with winks, dinamic images etc as my friends do, but I have none.
2. I couldn't get the music working with MSg+, but then I solved it using advice form here
3. I can no longer add smileys.
4. I can't share executable files.
5. When I ring someone it just says (in portuguese) "acaba de dar um toque" without my nick behind it.
And I think as I use it, some more problems will come along...
It seems like the Beta version was better than the final release... They should really start working on patches, I think.

I'll answer what I can...
First off, MSN doesn't come with DDP's (Dynamic Display Pics) or many winks; you have to buy them from BlueMountain (or get them for free somehow )
Also, there's a new security feature in MSN Messenger 7 that blocks certain filetypes from being sent to your contacts, such as .pif, .exe, .mp3 (for some reason ), etc. You can remove those blocked extensions using StuffPlug-NG

But, all my friends who have downloaded it, have DPPs... how's that possible (they haven't bough nor "bought" them)
I don't even have an option to buy them...
I've now changed my location, but I can't see the standard packages... I can see their names (surf etc... but instead of an image i get an X)
