My Music by kierant on 04-21-2005 at 02:32 PM

Just a quick enquiry:

After music is ripped to the computer it is saved in My Music. I have organised all of my music so that each artist has their own folder and then each of their albums has its own folder within the artist folder. Now this is probably what you all have but I'm just explaining things if not.

When the folders are viewed as thumbnails, the folder picture often displays the albumart for each artist and their albums. However, many artists and albums are just left as a blank folder. My question is: one, where are the albumart pictures generated from; and two, why are some albumarts not shown (even on quite mainstream artists that I would have thought should be included)?

Thanks.

ur running wmp obviosly so there is an option that allows wmp to check on its online server about the song to complete the meta tags and also download the album art. This is how it comes there.
It is stored in the same folder. Goto folder options and see hidden files. U will see the pics or i think mabbe u'll have to tell it to show system files as well :S but ne wayz its hidden in the same folder.

I guess cause u haven gone online and seen it. I cant recollect the option ... ill edit this post with it. If u do that and if the info about the song is available on their servers then ur problem is solved ;)

PS:- Play the song and rt click it and click find album info .... ull see what i mean ;) well thats the option i was talking about. :)
Anything else .... and i guess that solved all ur problems cause i dont think i missed anything (its a long post by me so i may have 4gotten 2 answer something so just ask if i have :cheesy:)

The picture that is shown on the folder image is usually "folder.jpg"
you can rename/copy an AlbumArt file to that if you want a pic of the album cover to show

I thought folder.jpg was automatically generated by Windows/WMP?
