I seem to have a problem when MY computer starts.

MSN Messenger 7.0.07777 automatically connects as I want it to although it signs me in but always stays on the signing in screen. Never actually shows me signed in at my end but does with everyone else.

Does anyone know what this may be.

I am running Windows XP Pro (SP2)
I run Zone Alarm Security Suite (still does the same when this is disabled)
I have uninstalled and re-installed this program about 5 times now.

Anyone know the fix?

Odd... are you running any additional plug ins?

No only MSN Plus i think

First.. The version you mentioned (7.0.07777) is actually 7.0.0777...

Second... To check what kind of plugins you have installed you could do that 2 ways:

- You open a conversation, go to the Plus! menu and go to Plugins and tell us what you see there

Or
You go to the Plus! preferences, go to Plugins (The button at the bottom) and if you have plugins installed they show up there..

If I well understood: Your MSN signs in but is hanging on the "Signing In" window?

If so: Signing is is slower in MSN7... You could try to Patch it up to 7.0.0813, as it's reported being "faster".

Ow and.. "MSN Plus" is something by Microsoft... The name of the MSN plugin you are using is MSGPlus (As in: Messenger Plus)

that error happens when the servers are too full!!!

i have that problem sometimes!

You just got to click cancel then sign in try that 10 times if that doesent work try it about 10 min later!!! (it worked for me)

Did you download MSN Messenger 7.0.0813 as it seems more faster... read sypher's post again.

I had problems connecting with MSN 7 using ZoneAlarm Security Suite, and it seems alot of other people are too (just check the ZoneLabs forums). Unfortunately, shutting down/disabling ZASS is not enough, it still enforces all its rules, so you should uninstall ZASS, and see if MSN Messenger works. If it does, then ZASS is your problem. Oddly though, after re-installing ZASS, MSN worked pretty much OK for me.

But, I would reccommend first to make sure MSN Messenger has the correct internet access rights, also allow it server rights. (Do this before, and after the re-install) Also, make sure that the AlertAdvisor (program control tab) is set to automatic.

Make sure you right-click MSN Messenger in the program list (program control on the side panel, then the programs tab), and select the two options in the advanced program control section.

If all else fails, use MSN Messenger 6.2, as that works perfectly with ZASS.
