If ur just looking for a client that's running from usb stick have a look at Mercury's USB version http://www.merxtra.com/mmusb/ or Risico Messenger http://downloads.mess.be/seb0r/files/RisicoMessenger.zip.
Hope thats helping you ;-)

RE: portable msn? by Zephyr on 05-03-2005 at 09:08 PM

Can't you just copy some of the MSN files off of your computer. I think you only need, msnmsgr.exe, msgslang.dll, msgsc.dll. There might be another one as well.

I think Risco Messenger will work fine off a USB stick.

RE: portable msn? by Supersonicdarky on 05-03-2005 at 09:11 PM

that is risco messenger but only a different language file (i think)

I know that. I just wasn't sure if this method would work in the circumstance he wants, but it should.

Also Risco doesn't need an installer as it has the necessary files with it.

If you copy the files i said from your english version of msn, it will be in english. I think Risco Messenger is Dutch.
RE: portable msn? by Supersonicdarky on 05-03-2005 at 09:15 PM

just change the msgslang.dll from risco msg with the one in your msn folder

or just use this:msglang.dll

Yes. The idea of Risico Messenger is that it can be used without being installed. Whether you run it from a USB stick or from a folder on your computer is not important :)
RE: portable msn? by Sunshine on 05-04-2005 at 10:47 AM

Before trying Risico Messenger i suggest you read: "CookieRevised reply to Risico Messenger....."

If you can go on the net you'd be better off using one of these:
MSN Web Messenger
MSN2Go
WBMSN
Piglet IM

RE: portable msn? by Supersonicdarky on 05-04-2005 at 11:02 AM

and there is also E-messenger
It supports MSN, AIM and YAHOO messengers :)
