Hello to all the graphical people

Im making a new site called 'Dempsey Software' which is just going to be a place to put the programs and games etc that i make and I'll prob put up some programming tutorials or something too.

I havent even started making the site yet and Ive onyl just now registered the domain so I havent really got any ideas about colours or styles yet, I'll leave that down to your graphical brains

I'm yet to see any connection to the "Software" part of the title, too generic imo (well, a little bit of code from traxor)

Hmm its just a texture. That I found. Well I found a big wallpaper so I just cut a piece and i made it into a texture.

And that cd is your cd I just cut it from yours. Flipped it horizontel. Made it smaller. And added some nice effects Credit for the Cd belongs to you

Can I give a tip?

All the banners are not realy good or are realy fixed in some kind of scheme. Outlined banners, like posted, where the whole picture/logo is encapsulated or needs to be encapsulated in a certain rectangle or colorscheme to make them look "good" is very limiting to the overall design of the site.

In other words, don't make such things, rather make real logo's/banners which work on any background and are not limited to any rectangular shape and/or fixed colors.

For example, the logos from Absorbation:

are much better then all the rest because they give freedom to the user/requestor regarding background and overal site scheme and context. All the others are just fixed banners which will not work in the grand scheme of any site...

Another example, take a look at the Plus! logo, this isn't fixed to any shaped and colored background. You can use the logo and name on any background and almost on any site scheme. Those are the real and decent logo's. All the rest may look good on there own and as stand alone banners but don't give any freedom to the rest of the site and thus the main purpose of a site logo/banner...

To pick an example among the logo's (no offense to the creator, I could've picked any other one):

Yeah, I'd really like to see whose logos you'd prefer, perhaps you should make a poll, and let people choose which logo they think that you should use. .

Using a bit of everybodys' ideas i made this :

dempsey is picking blue designs so i think his site will be a blue kind of theme. so any more new ones should be blue or tranparent in my view

i like both Blades and Traxors cos they use a plain background colour that can be easily continued through the page.

But i also like Lee Jefferys, so maybe someone could merge the idea of having the binary text like in Lee jefferys in a curve like in Blades or Traxors, and then having a plain bg colour?

Anyone see what I mean?

I think Stuff made by Dempsey is gonna be my slogan, its cool

Well I haven't got the full site up yet, but I've started to put a few program sup at DempseySoftware.com and as you can see I'm using a modified version of Lee Jefferys logo, I got him to send me the original and I changed it about a bit.

Once I get around to making the full site I might be changing it, I dunno yet, but cheers to everyone who helped and submitted a logo

who wants to help out with my logo?
