I'd just like to reccomend the Wave11 skin to everyone, i think its one of the best skins ever made, theunknown has done a fantastic job

What skin are you trying to install? Could you give a link.

Also make sure you have the latest version of MSN Messenger - MSN Messenger 7.0813

yup i got the new version adn I'm trying to intal the penguin one

I just tried installing the skin from here http://www.rolandunderg.net/skins.php?act=download&&id=pmsn and it worked fine.

Are you sure you are installing the skin on a clean version. This is the only thing I can think of.

-Go to control panel, then add/remove programs, then go to MSN Messenger and click remove.
-Then reboot your computer
-Next, Remove the MSN Messenger folder in Program Files and in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger. ( Note: this will remove all custom emoticons etc. To backup these files you can use CE/DP Backup Wizard

Then download MSN from http://messenger.msn.com and install it.

Then try installing the skin.

Do you have any other plugins running?

nope i dont and its still not working

Can you explain exactly what you are doing to insatll it, when does the error comes up and what the error message says.

thequeenofmusic, this may sound stupid but are you sure you're using MSN Messenger v7.0.813?

Skins are highly version dependant and must be used on the correct version of MSN Messenger, otherwise they can't patch it.

To check your version of MSN Messenger, in the main contactlist window go to Help > About MSN Messenger. There you'll see the complete and correct version number.

If it isn't 7.0.813, then first update your msn messenger: http://messenger.msn.com/

u might want to update the comments about Ipod Messenger, since it now has an installer that patches msn messenger. Thus it doesn't matter where u have the installer.

As for skins, my Mad Skin works, so do Vibes Messenger and  MUsn.

@ Absorbation, I love the foton messeneger I put it on today, its a really good look. and pretty much goes perfectly with my alienware darkstar theme!!! (is there a version that keeps the buttons there? like my space, msn today, an so on, It looks to much like something is missing.)
