As Everybody knows, Messanger 7 gives you the possibility to use animated gif files as animated emoticons. The size of this images can exceed the static emo size of 19x19 up to 50x50. RE: Animated Emoticons in Emo Panel by Stigmata on 05-10-2005 at 06:37 AM
Running the animation would take up alot of memory. especially if you have alot of custom emotions in your panel. RE: Animated Emoticons in Emo Panel by tbcat on 05-10-2005 at 08:12 PM
I hadnīt thought about that... It's true, but what about the size? RE: Animated Emoticons in Emo Panel by user27089 on 05-10-2005 at 08:39 PM
I can't see why the whole "hover preview" feature couldn't be implemented into MSN... Patchou may or may not do it, it all depends on whether it will require messing with the MSN Protocol, which is what Patchou tries not to do... RE: Animated Emoticons in Emo Panel by tbcat on 05-16-2005 at 02:54 AM I just realise that the msn panel shows the emos animated... So why does the plus panel doesnīt show them (moving)? quote:Doesn't require any messing with the protocol; nothing is send, received, or whatever. It "simply" (mind the quotes) is "looking up" your own custom emoticons (like it already does) and showing them with an animated GIF object (instead of the current static GIF object), which takes lots of memory btw.... quote:simply because it isn't implemented yet; it isn't programmed to do that.
