Why is it that since I installed Plus! when ever I loadup MSN all of the sudden my CPU resource shoots up 100% and I have no choice but to rebbot? I uninstalled both MSN and Plus! with all registry files revmoced, etc and reinstalled MSN 7 and it STILL make smy CPU go up to 100%.

Which process is it that is taking up 100% of the CPU? If you click the Processes tab in Task Manager what process does it show using 99%?

Nothing is 100%, that's why I thought it must of been MSN as my CPU goes sky high every time I load it up.

This may help your problem;
Go to the Main MSN Messenger Window > Plus > Preferences > > Then at the bottom look for a small label for Messenger attach mode, click the triangle next to it, and select Alternate mode from the list so it looks like the below;

After doing that, reboot your computer. Please do not skip this step.
Does the problem still occur?

I cannot even sign on to MSN at th emoment. Even if I could it my lag my system to much and I would have to reboot.

MSN 4.7 works fine, just MSN 7. Hmmm.

I've tried a fresh reinstall of both, cleaned registry files and other temp files they left behind. Still no joy.

Whats your system specs?

While you have msn messenger 7 open press this keys together:

Ctrl + Alt + Del --> then the task manager will open.

Then click on the tab "Processes" if you look carefully report back here with the one thats using up the most of your CPU, to find this easier then click once on the CPU tab and it will order it from the highest to the lowest usage

What is a CPU? Since I have installed the PLUS , my computer has been very slow or freezes..does this have anything to do with this? The CPU shows 48%..

i have had this problem since the beginning of the year too. ive been posing on bigblueball.com forums and noone can really answer it there. somebody else said theyre problem started the 11th of jan and mine was most likely tht time too. anyone know if there was any new downloads at that time to update msn. before that date everything was working perfectly fine then all of a suden just stopped.
     its not just msn live plus either its normal msn,msn live,Messenger Plus and msn live plus. aswell as windows media player when i try play movies....
in task manager these files are occupying aloit of system resources:
-"msnmsgr.exe"
-"windowstaskmanager.exe"
-"iexplorer.exe"
-"explorer.exe"
-"systemidleprocess" however this is normally occupying alot but not interfering with any running speeds at all.
i dont have viruses and do check every week etc. nothin suspicious has been installed.

only other thing is that just once i got it to work and no 100% cpu when i uninstalled macromedia flash player and reinstalled it, only lasted until i rebooted tho then after tht i retried and dont work back to 100% cpu.
