Alright, Some of you might of noticed my absense lately. This is pretty much because my main computer, The one I have learned to trust, is putting up a hell of a fight and wont co-operate. RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by Joa on 05-16-2005 at 12:41 AM
does this happen with ANY keyboard you use? or have you tried different ones, and got the same result? RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by Weyzza on 05-16-2005 at 12:42 AM Can you login in safe mode? RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by dotNorma on 05-16-2005 at 12:52 AM It happens with ALL keyboards. And yes, I have tried safe mode. quote:hmm.. it could be anything tbh.. does your keyboard have a USB or a PS/2 plug? it could be a damaged port ... try using a ps/2 or a usb plug keyboard (which ever one you are not using atm). i'm assuming this is a hardware problem. it could be a motherboard issue as well... i'm wondering as well, when you get to the login screen, does your computer restart right away when you reach it? or after you try to type? ... also another thing, when your computer is entering safemode, and you see all the processes loading, look at them to see which one crashes. it may give you an idea if anything is wrong with your system. in such a case you need to find that xp cd and repair your system. My keyboard uses a PS\2. RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by blackjack on 05-16-2005 at 01:45 AM I think i used to have that problem.. i disconnected and started using the Keyboard on screen thing.. but before that i tried several times.. and nothing happened.. then i thought it was the Keyboard.. i bought a USB one and everything went Ok .. Dodgy Problem btw RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by Joa on 05-16-2005 at 02:08 AM
quote:as i said above (and blaCkjaCk too) -> try using a USB keyboard if it works than it may be a problem with the port you were using. and, sorry i think i misunderstood. when you said that you did try safe mode, i thought that you were able to actually log into it. so i assumed that it could be one of the processes failing. but from what i gather now -> you were not able to log into safe mode at all? and your keyboard did not work at all, am i right in thinking this? sorry if i'm confusing i am just wondering if it is a hardware problem or not. so once again if you COULD enter safemode... than pay attention to the processes which are loading. if you could not... than try the usb keyboard. Edit: if all fails... try repairing your system. if that does not work than it may be a more serious motherboard issue. RE: Help; The downfall of NoName by TylerG on 05-17-2005 at 12:09 AM
I don't see how if the keyboard isn't plugged in it will load, and if it is plugged in it doesn't load This may be more than a hardware problem... |
