Signing into MSN Messenger has failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. 80004005
I checked the service, it says all systems are stable

Got this problem too sometimes, i don't think you can do anything about it. Maybe check your routers settings if you have one.

Hmmm.....
I connect to the net via Wireless Network, I have one at home
And the funny thing is, i downloaded the new MsgPlus 3.54 yesterday and it wouldn't sign in after....
But I uninstalled Plus but still cant sign in

maybe it's coincidence that it happened along with Plus!.
I'm also on wireless, first reset your router, protect your connection and be sure you enable the UPnP port. Also enabling ports for MSN-Messenger may be handfull. Most likely you can choose MSN Messenger for a drop-down menu in one of your settings (I guess it's TCP).

OK first the technical babble.... im not too aquainted with it...
Second, I tried to reset my router but it didnt work.... and we have 3 computers in the house, and none of them can connect.... maybe its just a local defect.... hopefully it wont be permanent
Any idea wether its the whole of Belgium?

Errorcode: 0x80004005
"Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later"
There are two known causes for this problem: the most common one is that the MSN service is down for a while. If you didn't have this problem before just wait a while and see if you can get online again later.

Are you logging into the same account on both? If you're using two different Passports here,
you'll need to contact Messenger Support Services about the one generating the 0x4008005
error, as this means that your account has been locked out (and will need to be re-enabled):
http://messenger.msn.com/help/contactus.aspx
Otherwise, if you're using the same account, here are some suggestions you should check/try
if you haven't already:
1. The date on your computer needs to be set properly -- double click the clock verify that
the time and date are set.
2. If your password information is not saved, verify that you are typing it in with the
correct case (uppercase or lowercase).
3. Change your password @ http://memberservicesnet.passport.com/memberservice.srf to
something smaller (under 10-12 characters), then try signing in again.
4. If you use a firewall (like ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security etc. ), it's possible
that Messenger doesn't have the correct rights to access the Internet, especially since you
upgraded. You may need to re/add Messenger to the allowed list of programs in your firewall
if this is the case.
5. If you disabled your firewall in the past, it still may be blocking Messenger -- try
restarting it and see if that helps the situation. You also might try uninstalling an
installed firewall, to verify that it isn't causing a problem (even if it is disabled).
6. Clear your IE cache and cookies -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then click the Delete Files button, and when that's complete click the
Delete Cookies button.
7. Check your IE Security settings -- open Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu, then
Internet Options, then Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section, and verify that "Check
for server certificate revocation" is unchecked. Also verify that 'Use SSL 2.0' and Use SSL
3.0' is checked, then click OK.
8. Click Start, then Run, and enter the following:
regsvr32 softpub.dll
then click OK

I found out the source of the problem
It was Zone Alarm... but thats my only firewall, and I got it to work before that..
Any ideas how to get it to work (again) with ZA?
