heey peeople!
ok for the past few days i havent been able to send custom sounds to my friends! only built in sounds!

last nite i was able to send old custom files. but not new added sound files!
the error i get when i try to send new custom files is:;

an error eccorued while trying to contact the server, please try again later.
if the problem persists,  check your secuity settings "

what security settings? i aint got no firewalls on or some sort. it has always been working untill recently.

so from searching and reading around, people suggest to try and look @

for status!

that site has always said
Stats will be back up shortly <-- so it down or not?
i am able to ping that site with 130 ms.

anyways. i got lastest msn7, lastets msgplus build and lastest stuffplug.

any ideas?

First off, this has been discussed quite a lot. Please learn to use the Search feature.

Second, the reason you can't send new custom sounds is because the server is down. The first time you send a sound, it uploads it to the server once, then you can play it whenever you want. Your old sounds are already on the server, so you can still send them.

Although, if the server's down, I'd imagine you wouldn't be able to send any custom sounds... someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

So to summarize, there's nothing wrong with your settings, you'll just have to wait until the server is back up

It's most likely the server isn't accepting new sounds for whatever reason (bandwidth caps, storage limits...). You'll just have to wait it out I'm afraid.

And get a firewall!

firewall? brrr.. im behing Uni Net! and they got a annoying ass Firewall for everyone builtin! hehe sux! hehe

You should still have a firewall on your own PC, if only to protect yourself against your own network.
