Information on this problem can be found in this thread. Personal sound problem

Note that this has nothing todo with MSN or Microsoft. The custom sound feature is a feature from Messenger Plus!, as well as the sound server(s) are property of Messenger Plus!.

This particular problem* has also nothing todo with your local settings or local used software/hardware like firewalls and internet connections.

For other possible problems regarding the Messenger Plus! Custom Sounds, please refer to:
"Custom sound feature error report thread"

* Old created sounds can be send and recieved, but when sending newly created sounds you'll get an error saying: "An error occured while contacting the server, please try again later". For further and full details read this thread from the beginning.

There seems to be a problem with the sound servers right now, we're working on the issue.
