Hi,

I've recently made a little test-project that can pause/unpause winamp trough whistling (you'll need a microphone ).
A friend of mine suggested that I made it into a bossprotect plugin, that upon whistling would go into bossprotect...

I was just wondering if anyone thinks this would be something usable ?

I like the idea although rather useless it's fun erm you should add more feature like whisle and add contact or clap and send file

How stable is it with pitch and that. Does it always work?

I don't think I could do a reliable clap, as that's just a slow peak in the amplitude, and even typing could do that. but what I am doing now is just using an algorithm (Goertzel) to detect the "volume" of a specific frequency (in my case 1680) and if that volume goes above a certain threshold for x milliseconds, it will send winamp a command that it has to pause/unpause
Works pretty reliable, although my sister for example is unable to whistle at my frequency

haha that will be great, but what about outside noise? I doubt it would filter it exactly though, and if youre singing away and it goes off lol

maybe like in a phone you say something and it records it and when you say it again it does that command and you can keep changing the word and it will be at your own pitch

Cant you like make it configurable.. like lets say i use it on my account.. first time a pop up shows and i kind of record my voice so it sets the frequency.. so then if my sis tries to do it n that she doesnt have the same frequency, i would b the only one also, it would be better cuz then it would work everywhere

i would use it..it would be really amazing for when my annoying sisters try and snoop...but the winamp thing would go good for me cause when i listen to music i whistle
