RE: storage amounts by Tochjo on 07-21-2005 at 04:56 PM Exabyte, zettabyte, yottabyte. The prefixes are universal and are mentioned in the Système International d'Unités (SI). RE: storage amounts by [MR] on 07-21-2005 at 04:57 PM thats tons of space u could have RE: storage amounts by M73A on 07-21-2005 at 06:04 PM

That would be good, there is somebody on this forum already called "yottabyte", so yeah lol. quote: RE: storage amounts by qgroessl on 07-21-2005 at 06:08 PM
quote: I! lol. EDIT: ... Mine wouldn't work at all... qgroesslbyte... groesslbyte... the only thing that would work would be my first name ... quinnabyte, or a quinnybyte haha... Oh well. RE: storage amounts by M73A on 07-21-2005 at 06:10 PM
quote: has to be dificult lol hmm quote: got me thinking.... what about qgroesslbyte! RE: storage amounts by Anubis on 07-21-2005 at 07:49 PM
After Yottabyte comes harpibite, then grouchibite, then a zeppibite, then a gummibite and then chicibite. No joke...they are all the metric prefixs added to byte that come after yotta...there are also likely to be more. However those file types aren't SI aproved, because they aren't anywhere near being used...but will be in the next edition...but after that we can surely have an Anubisbite RE: storage amounts by user27089 on 07-21-2005 at 07:53 PM I really want a chicibite hard-drive, i really want to work out how many gigabytes that is . RE: storage amounts by ipab on 07-21-2005 at 10:05 PM
or an ipabyte RE: storage amounts by [MR] on 07-21-2005 at 10:07 PM ya u couldnt ever use up that space for a whole long time RE: storage amounts by Zephyr on 07-21-2005 at 10:22 PM
quote: You never know though. Now 200GB seems a lot for most people, but maybe in about 10 years that will be considered quite small. I can't begin to imagine what could take up that space, but thats what people thought when hard drive spaces where measured in MB. Anyway, what about a monsterbyte? Sounds good to me. RE: storage amounts by gif83 on 07-21-2005 at 10:40 PM
i would imagine films at increasingly high quality could very easily take up that space.... RE: storage amounts by Supersonicdarky on 07-22-2005 at 01:04 AM i think mine goes the best: uperbyte RE: storage amounts by qgroessl on 07-22-2005 at 02:19 AM It only goes the best if you have the funky animated S in it haha... Of course.... But yeah... on the subject ... A computer with that much space would be really awesome! Think of how fast it would work. RE: storage amounts by Supersonicdarky on 07-22-2005 at 02:22 AM amout of space doesn;t affect the pc speed. The processor and ram type/size does RE: storage amounts by qgroessl on 07-22-2005 at 02:32 AM But if you're like me and have your computer full of junk music that I never listen to, and since it's shared also has other junk things that nobody uses, it doesn't have much memory and programs are running almost constantly with alot of strain on the system. quote:Yeah, look at Hi-Res HDTV, even when compressed it can be around 1.4gb for a good looking 45 minute TV show. RE: storage amounts by Eljay on 07-22-2005 at 09:29 AM
