RE: xp 64 support? by Dempsey on 07-24-2005 at 07:25 PM it's not a 64-bit processor RE: xp 64 support? by seanwhat on 07-24-2005 at 07:42 PM ok thanks RE: xp 64 support? by Dempsey on 07-24-2005 at 07:55 PM to run Windows XP 64 bit, you need a 64-bit processor such as an AMD Athlon 64. RE: xp 64 support? by Mnjul on 07-25-2005 at 01:34 AM Even though the title goes "Pentium 4 540", the specification says "Pentium 4 650" (and it is 650 that is 3.40 GHz) ... 6xx CPU's support EM64T, so I guess you can run Windows XP Pro x64 Edition on it RE: xp 64 support? by Dempsey on 07-25-2005 at 07:39 AM ah ok, cheers Mnjul, maybe I should read the page more carefully next time RE: xp 64 support? by seanwhat on 07-25-2005 at 01:29 PM ah great, thank you very much RE: xp 64 support? by Garndell on 07-26-2005 at 06:03 PM Mass marketing by Intel falls over again. Unlike the Athlon64 (which you can tell is 64bit) the Pentium 6xx series doesn't have the EM64T tag at the end all the time. All Pentium Dual Core are also 64bit aswell but again, not a lot of people know that. |
