AVIs use many different (MPEG-4 mainly) codecs to play files; RE: Ermm, codec help by Reaper on 07-28-2005 at 01:34 PM

uhh sorry for double post but, i installed divx play version 6.0 and now my wmp is really unresponsive and so is my pc!! RE: Ermm, codec help by tomfletcherman on 07-28-2005 at 03:20 PM The acemegacodecs pack is probably the best. I got fed up of searching the internet for codecs because they always wanted you to buy divx codecs. It is usually up for download on torrent sites. Try searching on bitoogle: http://search.bitoogle.biz/search.php?q=ace+mega+codecs+pack&st=t RE: Ermm, codec help by Anubis on 07-28-2005 at 04:22 PM
quote:Uninstall the codec pack you downloaded, if you haven't already, and download and install FFDShow MPEG-4 Video Decoder, it loads DivX files extremely quickly as a stream, its a decoder that uses a directshow filter from the makers of XviD, so it is extremely reliable. It is also capeable of acting as a codec to all DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 movies, the only thing it doesn't do is decompress MP3s, but as long as you have windows media player on your computer the audio for the movie should be fine. I think that program is the one best suited for you. RE: Ermm, codec help by Stigmata on 07-28-2005 at 04:26 PM
