hi I added a new contact today and earlier on my contact list they were showing up as their screen name, now tho they are showing up as only their email address, why is this?? I was thinking maybe they blocked me but surely it wouldnt show up as only email addy would it?

make sure your veiwing your contats by screen name: open msn>click on contacts at the top>click on manage contacts>veiw contacts by> email or screen name

Just checked, yeah i'am viewing contacts by screen name and all other contacts are showing as screen names.Cheers, any other ideas?

Your contact might simply have his email address as his screen name.

Just used a block checker an the person is online but not showing as online on my msn, they are using a screen name. So guess i have been blocked. Strange though that the name changed back to email, is this a known fault with msn? Surely it makes it obvious when you block someone. Has anyone else noticed this?

Block checkers are NOT reliable. But in this case if you are going by the block checker then yes, you have been blocked. It's probably changed cos he's deleted you.
